An innings can end before the match does
The first innings ending normally leads to a chase. An innings break is therefore different from the final result. Read the status line, batting side and target to understand what happens next.
Let the result wording settle the outcome
At the finish, use the official result text and current scorecard. A leading score alone can be misleading if the match is interrupted or a target has changed. A live score and a completed result answer different questions.

- Confirm the teams, match date and competition before interpreting a score.
- Read the innings label, runs, wickets and overs together. Check whether the display says live, innings break or result.
